Dover Castle sits on a prominent position atop of the white cliffs on the English Channel and encompasses structures dating from medieval times through the Second World War. As part of a masterplan for visitor improvements across the site, two major condition surveys were undertaken to identify essential repairs. Included within the structures surveyed were the main curtain walls enclosing the castle grounds, the medieval tunnel network connecting the inner grounds of the castle with the defensive caponiers and spurs, and the Constable’s Tower and gateway.
