Simpson & Brown has been working on Elvaston Castle and Country Estate for Derbyshire City Council since 2009.
The initial phase of work was to identify and report on the essential repairs to the historic buildings, structures and landscape elements within the country park. A comprehensive document was produced to enable decisions to be made affecting the long term future of the grade II* listed house and the important historic landscape. Simpson & Brown went onto oversee the conservation and repair of a number of buildings and structures within the grounds, including the walled garden and the spectacular Moorish Temple.
In 2020 Simpson & Brown were appointed to work on the Elvaston Castle Regeneration Masterplan. The masterplan, developed by the The Elvaston Castle and Gardens Trust (ECGT), identified a range of uses for the existing buildings and the need for new structures and infrastructure such as a café and carpark.
