We undertook a Watching Brief during all ground-breaking works in and around Coachford Cottage, an 18th century cottage within the Dumfries House Estate, East Ayrshire.
The Watching Brief revealed over 20 meters of cobbled pathway from the Cottage to the a ruined building, a cobbled floor inside and leading to the cottage, and the remaining outline of the ruin, along with an associated cobble and mortar floor.
