The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh
Simpson & Brown were appointed by the National Galleries of Scotland to work with John Miller & Partners on the prestigious 'Playfair Project' on The Mound in Edinburgh.
The work began with the major renovation and repair of William Henry Playfair's landmark building which has been the home of the Royal Scottish Academy since 1826. After undertaking a thorough historical investigation and physical assessment of the building, Simpson & Brown provided specialist conservation advice and supervision throughout the construction period.
