Eleanor Egan
Eleanor first joined Simpson & Brown in 1996 whilst a student. She went on to begin her professional career in 1999 with Adam Dudley Architects, Edinburgh where she was involved in various projects including the alteration of listed Georgian properties; the installation of a contemporary swimming pool in a listed Arts & Crafts house; and the refurbishment of unoccupied flats within a listed Playfair building.
She returned to Simpson & Brown in 2003 since when she has been involved in survey work and a new ticket office at Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island, Northumberland; the acquisition of consents for Georgian properties in Raeburn Place, Picardy Place and George Street in Edinburgh; and the conversion of farm buildings into dwellings at Papple, Redshill and Queenstonbank Steadings in East Lothian, Laidneskea and Stars of Forneth in Perthshire, and Whitelee in the Scottish Borders.
Eleanor was the project architect for extensive alterations, restoration and building works at the 18th century Hall in Brocklesby Park Estate, Lincolnshire, and is currently working on repairs and restoration of Yester Kirk in Gifford, East Lothian; the Vaults, Leith and the restoration and re-habitation of a 17th century tower house, Isle of Bute.
Eleanor has RIAS Accreditation in Conservation Architecture.
