Rachel Mayhew

Rachel Mayhew Rachel was trained at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh.  She began her professional career at Historic Scotland where her work involved the production of advisory reports for work at Edinburgh Castle and for the Edinburgh New Town Conservation Committee.  She was involved in the fourth revision of "The Care and Conservation of Georgian Houses" with Andy Davey.

Since joining Simpson & Brown in 1994, Rachel has been involved in co-ordinating a wide range of jobs, including substantial alterations to the outbuildings of an Arts & Crafts villa in Edinburgh, the conversion of a farm steading into a private dwelling in Perthshire, and repair and alterations to Cowdenknowes House, an A-listed mansion in Earlston, Berwickshire.

Rachel was involved in the repair and alteration of Rowand Anderson's 1883 Catholic Apostolic Church in Edinburgh for re-use as a multi-purpose arts venue and offices for the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations. She is currently working on the repair and refurbishment of a Georgian house and outbuildings in Perth & Kinross for a private client.
