Arnaud Schwartz

Arnaud completed a two-year degree in civil engineering at the Robert Schumann University in Strasbourg before joining the School of Architecture of Grenoble in 1999. He spent a year at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen, as part of the Erasmus programme and  joined Simpson & Brown when he returned to Scotland in 2004.  He completed his diploma with the School of Architecture of Toulouse (2004 - 2007) while living in Edinburgh.

At Simpson & Brown Arnaud has been involved in the conversion of two steadings into dwellings at Borelick, Perthshire, and Lawhead, East Lothian; the construction phase of the enabled development at Hartford Hall, Northumberland; the design and development phase of the restoration, conversion and extension of Blairtummock House, Easterhouse, Glasgow; and planning consent for the conservation and extension of a Scots baronial house in Wemyss Bay, Inverclyde.

In 2007, Arnaud became a registered architect and took on the role of project architect for the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, South Ayrshire. The project included repair work to the Birthplace Cottage, conversion of the old museum into an education facility and the design of a new sustainable museum building for the National Trust for Scotland.

 

Arnaud became an associate in 2010.
