Originally a 17th century Tower House, Alderstone has been extended and adapted over the centuries. Simpson & Brown was commissioned to alter and extend the building to accommodate extensive modern office space for a company headquarters. Planning and Listed Building Consent was granted in 2007.
The contemporary new extension provides open-plan modern office accommodation linked to the existing historic building by a central circulation core. The new extension sits to the rear of the site and offers floor to ceiling glazing giving views out to parkland. Solar shading is provided by timber louvres. Materials comprise of galvanised steel sections; timber and natural stone wall cladding.
